Red Bull Air Race 2010 World Championship is back

Once again, this year the Red Bull Air Race opens in Abu Dhabi on 26 & 27 March. The world’s top 15 pilots will start their six-month long battle for championship points in the first of eight races on a total of five continents.

The World Championship will take place in some of the cities already visited by previous Red Bull Air Race Championships, and these are:

- Abu Dhabi (UAE) 26&27 March

- Perth (Australia) 17&18 April

- Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) 8&9 May

- Windsor (Canada) 5&6 June

- New York (USA) 19&20 June

- Lausitz (Germany) 7&8 August

- Budapest (Hungary) 19&20 August

- Lisbon (Portugal) 4&5 September

The Blues

The US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, also known as Blue Angels, is an aerobatic team from the US Navy. Every year, they perform in more than 70 shows around the States. Their birds, the F/A-18 Hornet, is one of the most emblematic aircraft, maybe much more emblematic than the Boeing 747.

The Blue Angels were born in 1946, and the main aim of this Squadron is to enhance the US Navy recruitment, trying to excite young people to enroll the Navy. And they certainly do.

Some of their tricks are the half-Cuban 8 takeoff, the knife-edge pass, the section high alpha or the Delta formation. If you want more info about them, just go to their official website.

Oshkosh: The General Aviation Mecca

Each year since 1953, a huge aviation event take place in Oshkosh, a little town in Wisconsin (USA). In Wittman Regional Airport is where aviation fans gather each summer to spend one week with their fellows. Is the greatest general aviation ever seen, not only because of the airshow (where more than 2500 show aircrafts participate each year), but also exhibitors, forums, courses and so on.

EAA, The Spirit of Aviation, is the organzation who plan this whole event. They join thousands of people with aviation interests for one week at Oshkosh. Every general aviation pilot from the US (maybe from other countries as well) is willing to reach their vacations and fly to that little but crowded airport.

Apart from homebuilts, antiques, classics, ultralights and rotorcraft, there’s also big birds like boeing 747 Cargo (Dreamlifter), jet fighters and commercial airplanes. Also, they arrange some courses to enroll right there, giving some thoughts about avionics, engines, structures or pilot skills.
